Found a new roommate

In case you’ve seen the last post title Room for rent, we have found a new roommate; I won’t post their name until I know they are cool with it.

During the search we met a lot of great people and I hate being put in the position of judging who is the best-wouldn’t even begin to imagine where I would fall in their search. Thanks to everyone who showed up.

Room for rent in the Inner Sunset

empty room, originally uploaded by chrisjara.

So we have a room currently available for anyone looking for a place in a great location. There are easily 120+ places to eat and drink within a four block radius of us (7th and Lincoln) with close access to Golden Gate Park and the N-Judah line.

Anyway, if you want more details or would like to see the room (currently available and ready to move in) please contact me at chrisjara at gmail dot com to talk.

Canvas Gallery has been sold

Neighborhood art gallery/jazz joint/bar/nightlclub Canvas Gallery is reported to have been sold and closing. This has been a great place to do and see a variety of things, including Sunday night jazz, board games, Ask A Scientist, open mike comedy and music. I’ll hate to see it leave.

Anyone else know any details? Like is just changing ownership? Nothing has been posted on their website yet.

Workout stats for third week

Maybe Im getting used to getting up early. The routine doesn’t seem to such a pain in the ass anymore and you meet interesting people on the N-Judah at that time. You wonder if they’re going home or getting up.

Even with midweek distractions I managed to keep my workout schedule - 5 days plus soccer on the weekend. Let’s see if the results come quick.

Stats for third week: 124 minutes of work on the treadmill plus 190 minutes on a stair climber. Total calories burned = 3986

Malkin and other right wingers don’t understand nuance

Michelle Malkin and her ilk have decided to try to make Kerry’s unintended gaffe about Bush leading us into Iraq a slap at the troops. I think most people who listen to the entire speech will realize that the Senator was not trying to malign those who are serving in the military, but rather those people in charge who don’t listen to informed opinions and decide to dictate their own brand of statesmanship.

No problem Michelle. As long as Iraq is the front story of every newspaper across the country, the election will show that the American public does not think Republicans can handle the job. Keep it up - you’re doing a great service to Democrats everywhere.
