Along with the news that Lucasfilms will be providing Star Wars clips to be used in mashup and derivatives, the History Channel will present a two-hour special on Monday May 28th titled “STAR WARS: THE LEGACY REVEALED” Some of the people who were interviewed about the movies’ lasting appeal include Newt Gingrich, Peter Jackson, Dan Rather and Nancy Pelosi.

“Through interviews with politicians, academics, journalists and critics – all of whom weigh in on the enduring appeal of George Lucas’s creations – the special demonstrates that Star Wars isn’t just a high-action adventure in space. On Saturday (April 7th) I got to watch a great game in town – the California Victory against the Fiji National Team which the Victory won 3-2. A highly partisan Fijian crowd was treated to a high energy display by their countrymen but a couple of defensive mistakes opened the door for the Victory to sneak in two penalty shot goals and the win.

The Victory will be playing their home games at Kezar Stadium which will rawk! I can stagger home if necessary.

Neighborhood art gallery/jazz joint/bar/nightlclub Canvas Gallery is reported to have been sold and closing. This has been a great place to do and see a variety of things, including Sunday night jazz, board games, Ask A Scientist, open mike comedy and music. I’ll hate to see it leave.

Anyone else know any details? Like is just changing ownership? Nothing has been posted on their website yet.

Michelle Malkin and her ilk have decided to try to make Kerry’s unintended gaffe about Bush leading us into Iraq a slap at the troops. I think most people who listen to the entire speech will realize that the Senator was not trying to malign those who are serving in the military, but rather those people in charge who don’t listen to informed opinions and decide to dictate their own brand of statesmanship.

No problem Michelle. As long as Iraq is the front story of every newspaper across the country, the election will show that the American public does not think Republicans can handle the job. Keep it up – you’re doing a great service to Democrats everywhere.

Sometimes you forget about the hassle of getting around a crowded city and Friday was one of those days. I walked to the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival and was able to see some truly great music makers.

The crowd was enjoying every minute – I guess at least 20,000 strong.
