New photo service Zooomr - Likes Bloggers!

Zooomr is a localized photo-sharing service that is catering to the blogging crowd. Features are similar to Flickr with a couple of new things. You can have trackbacks to individual pictures and see stats on how many people are reading your RSS feed of your photostream. Sounds cool.

Here is a picture I’ve loaded up so far:

Prada movie has bigger than expected opening.

Maybe it was the free coffee. Food and schwag usually are good for generating buzz and the marketers for The Devil Wears Prada did a great job with National Coffee Break Day.

The Devil Wears Prada,” adapted from Lauren Weisberger’s best-selling novel, stars Hathaway as an aspiring journalist who reluctantly takes a job at a top fashion magazine, where she works for a tyrannical editor (Streep).

The movie’s audience was four-fifths women, who turned out in far bigger numbers than 20th Century Fox had predicted.”

Doctors remove lightbulb from man’s ass

Sounds like he never gave up the liquor.

Doctors remove lightbulb from man’s ass:
David Pescovitz:

On Wednesday, Fateh Mohammad of Multan, Pakistan underwent surgery to have a lightbulb removed from his rectum. The prison inmate says he has no idea how it ended up there. From Reuters:

Mohammad, who is serving a four-year sentence for making liquor, prohibited for Muslims, said he was shocked when he was first told the cause of his discomfort. He swears he didn’t know the bulb was there.

“When I woke up I felt a pain in my lower abdomen, but later in hospital, they told me this,” Mohammad said.

“I don’t know who did this to me. Police or other prisoners.”

Make video for your Ipod the easy way

I’ve been playing with clips to add to my Ipod and found this tool/software which should help. ReelBean is a player and format converter for Mac OS X.

“ReelBean is a media exporter and player, offering many features that are only available in QuickTime Player to users of the Pro version. A key feature of ReelBean is the ability to convert your movies from many different formats to the video iPod format.”

Haven’t had a chance to play with it much but if you’d like to, a demo is available with the final version costing $10.
